Your mission:Should you choose to accept it…
The Springs Resort & Spa is seeking a knowledgeable Pool Engineer to manage and maintain the resort's pool systems and related infrastructure. You will ensure the proper operation of all pool equipment, manage water quality, and conduct routine inspections and repairs to ensure a safe, clean, and enjoyable pool environment for guests. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in pool maintenance, plumbing, and mechanical systems. Where you can make an impact:
- Oversee the maintenance and operation of all resort pools, spas, and water features, ensuring they meet health and safety standards.
- Monitor and adjust chemical levels in pools and spas to ensure safe and clean water quality, using testing kits and equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance on pool pumps, filters, heaters, and related systems to ensure proper functionality and longevity.
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical and plumbing issues related to pool operations, making necessary repairs or coordinating with external service providers.
- Conduct daily inspections of pool areas, equipment, and infrastructure, addressing any potential safety hazards or operational inefficiencies.
- Ensure proper sanitation and hygiene protocols are followed in the pool areas, including routine cleaning of pool surfaces and surrounding areas.
- Maintain accurate records of pool chemical levels, maintenance activities, and equipment performance.
- Collaborate with the pool and spa staff to ensure smooth day-to-day operations, offering technical support when needed.
- Assist in the installation, repair, and upgrade of pool systems, including heating, filtration, and water circulation equipment.
- Stay informed on the latest pool maintenance technology, products, and industry best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
- Respond to any guest inquiries or concerns regarding pool operations and safety, providing excellent customer service.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding pool safety and maintenance.
Requirements
Education/Formal Training:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Certification in pool maintenance (CPO - Certified Pool Operator) or equivalent is required.
- Additional training in plumbing, HVAC, or electrical systems is a plus.
Experience:
- 2 years of experience in pool maintenance or mechanical engineering, preferably in a hospitality or resort setting.
- Hands-on experience with pool systems, including pumps, filtration, heating, and water quality management.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Strong knowledge of pool chemistry, water treatment, and safety regulations.
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and plumbing issues related to pool systems.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach to preventing and resolving operational issues.
- Familiarity with pool and spa equipment, including filtration systems, heaters, pumps, and chemical feeders.
- Strong attention to detail to maintain proper water quality and equipment performance.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills for collaborating with staff and handling guest concerns.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays, based on operational needs.
- Must be able to travel to The Springs Resort & Spa.
