The Springs Resort & Spa is seeking a skilled Hotel Maintenance Technician to perform a variety of repair and maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation and safety of our hotel’s facilities. In this role, you will address routine and emergency maintenance issues, perform preventative maintenance on equipment, and support the overall functionality of the hotel’s physical infrastructure. This position is ideal for someone who is technically skilled, proactive, and passionate about maintaining the high standards of a luxury resort environment.
Where you can make an impact:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems throughout the hotel.
- Respond promptly to guest room repair requests, addressing issues such as plumbing, electrical, or heating/cooling malfunctions.
- Conduct daily inspections of hotel areas, including guest rooms, common areas, and grounds, to identify potential maintenance needs.
- Execute preventative maintenance tasks on equipment and systems, ensuring that all are in proper working condition to prevent future issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems related to building infrastructure, including minor carpentry, painting, and general repairs.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the property by addressing any hazards or repairs in public spaces and work areas.
- Maintain records of completed maintenance tasks and follow up on outstanding work orders to ensure timely completion.
- Collaborate with the engineering team and department heads to prioritize and complete projects that support hotel operations.
- Ensure that all tools, supplies, and equipment are properly maintained and readily available for use.
- Support other departments during peak times by providing maintenance services in areas such as pools, fitness centers, or recreational spaces.
What Sets You Apart:
Education/Formal Training:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical training or certification in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or general maintenance is preferred.
Experience:
- 1-2 years of experience in a maintenance or engineering role, preferably within a hotel or resort environment.
- Experience with a variety of tools and maintenance equipment is required.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Basic carpentry, painting, and general repair skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with a hands-on approach to resolving maintenance issues.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with hotel staff and guests.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of safety standards and procedures, including the safe use of tools and equipment.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and handle objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to travel to The Springs Resort & Spa.
