This is a direct care position focusing on assisting brain injured clients in physical restoration, cognitive restoration, behavioral difficulties, nursing needs, recreational needs as well as other activities of daily living. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Responsibilities
- Reports information regarding client functioning to shift supervisor and Program RN.
- Demonstrates competency in the implementation of the treatment plan through completion of scheduled client activities.
- Participates in behavior modification programs by promoting socially acceptable behavior, using appropriate intervention and documentation.
- Participates in specialized aspects of patient care, within the scope of skill and training under the supervision of the Program RN.
- Works directly with assigned clients in order to achieve treatment objectives.
- Completes accurate records to ensure correct documentation in the appropriate timeframes according to policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates responsibility for own personal growth by participating in staff meetings and inservice educational activities and participating in client staffing as requested.
- Competently completes all aspects of patient care including age appropriate techniques for ADLs, mobility, transfers, hygiene, toileting, bathing/showering, hair cutting, recreational activities, and use of adaptive devices.
- As a team member, participates in the daily staff assignments such as: client activities/outings, meal preparation according to dietary guidelines, patient feeding, laundry, supply ordering, grocery shopping, client rounds, bed changes, and patient bathing.
- Follows all polices governing use of company vehicles and transporting of PAM Health’s clients.
- Follows the policies and procedures of PAM Health and the Brain Injury Program.
- Maintains the highest level of customer service via courtesy, compassion and positive communication.

Qualifications
Education and Training: High school diploma/GED.
Experience: College credit hours related to brain injury, rehabilitation or other human services courses preferred. Interest in neurologic rehabilitation preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- May work with various hand tools including drill, saw, hammer, and electric sander.
- Will at times need to use tape measures and other measuring tools.
- May be requested to operate other equipment and/or perform duties not related to position (i.e., operate motor vehicle for client transport) at the discretion of supervisor.
