Job Title: Farm Equipment Operator

The SpudCo has an opportunity available for its WI location for a Farm Technician/Equipment Operator. This position is a critical part of the farm operation and will assist the Area Field Manager.

Job Responsibilities:

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

• Assist with all aspects of potato and carrot production from ground prep and planting to harvesting.
• Operation of potato and carrot planting and harvesting equipment, tractors and irrigation
• Perform general maintenance on equipment as needed (maintain, repair, install and operate equipment as requested or expected by the team).

Skills and Experience/Qualifications:

• 2 years of production agricultural experience required
• Willing to work long hours during planting and harvesting — during planting and harvesting seasons, it is not uncommon to work long hours (50-100 hours); outside of that, we typically work 60 hours a week with occasional weekends
• Demonstrate a general willingness to learn and ability to use the technology associated with modern equipment and record keeping
• Knowledge of mechanical operation of agricultural equipment, including routine maintenance and repair
• Ability to work independently or as a team and assist others, depending on the task at hand
• Effective communication with colleagues and with management, including the ability to develop a productive and cooperative relationship with others
• Valid driver’s license required, CDL preferred
• Ability to lift 50 pounds routinely and heavier lifts less frequently, with assistance available
• Driven personality, desire to succeed and a team player with a positive attitude

We’re growing and hiring a full-time, year-round, Farm Equipment Operator to run our team for our Wisconsin and Minnesota locations. You will be contributing to the success of these locations which grow large acreage of potatoes. You will be in a hands-on role working independently for part of the year and leading the field teams during planting, growing and harvesting.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.57 - $24.78 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
