Overview
The Squires Group has multiple contract opportunities for Oracle Database Administrators with EXADATA to work on a Federal project in Washington, DC. This program is responsible for the global supply chain system for the Government and has more than 66,000 users. As an Oracle Database Administrator, you will manage, optimize, and secure Oracle databases and Exadata systems to ensure high availability, performance, and compliance with security standards while implementing monitoring tools and disaster recovery plans.
Per our Federal Government Contract, candidates must be U.S. Citizens with an Active Secret Clearance. (Top Secret Clearance is preferred.)
Responsibilities
- Manage Oracle databases (19c ) setup, configuration, and maintenance.
- Conduct backups, recovery tests, and disaster recovery planning.
- Enhance performance, troubleshoot issues, and address bottlenecks.
- Ensure database uptime and high availability through monitoring.
- Administer Oracle Exadata clusters, updates, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Handle patching, storage configuration, and performance monitoring for Exadata.
- Develop tools and alerts for monitoring uptime, performance, and thresholds.
- Analyze logs to proactively identify and fix potential issues.
- Implement encryption, auditing, and other security measures for databases.
- Maintain compliance with security standards and apply patches regularly.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (may substitute 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree)
- Extensive Oracle DBA experience (5 years).
- In-depth expertise in Oracle Exadata administration (must have)
- Proficiency in creating and managing database monitoring tools (e.g., Oracle Enterprise Manager, Splunk, or custom tools).
- Strong skills in database uptime monitoring and alerting strategies.
- Experience with troubleshooting and optimizing databases using log analysis.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle Grid Infrastructure management, including installation, upgrades, and maintenance.
- Advanced knowledge of database backup and recovery techniques, including RMAN.
- Understanding of database security best practices, such as encryption and auditing.
- Proficiency in scripting (e.g., Bash, Python, or PowerShell) for automation.
- Strong expertise in Linux/Unix systems.
- Per our Federal Government Contract, candidates must be U.S. Citizens with an Active Secret Clearance (Active TS is preferred)
Compensation
- Competitive salary range of $90K-$126K, based on experience, qualifications, location, and certifications. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
