Job Summary: The Marina Forklift Driver operates and manages industrial marine trucks to load and unload vessels for the storage to the water and service areas. This position provides guidance over the Marina while maintaining the highest possible safety & customer service standards.
Job Responsibilities:
- Unload & Load vessels from incoming vehicles and assign them to appropriate places.
- Locate and move storage customers to the preferred area for customers access to vessels.
- Identify and report damages, shortages, and quality deficiencies as necessary.
- Inspect machinery, perform regular maintenance (e.g., recharging batteries and lubricating equipment) and determine repair needs.
- Keep updated records of activity logs
- Comply with company policies and legal guidelines
- Provide oversight across the marina docks.
- Maintenance of the docks & marina overall.
- Monitor finger piers, fuel dock and work areas to ensure that all marina customers are being assisted
- Maintain and ensure safe facility environment including standards for maintenance and upkeep of unit’s equipment.
- Notify Boatyard supervisor/officer supervisor of all unusual events, circumstances, or other safety or quality control issues.
- Perform opening and closing procedures as directed.
- Maintain awareness of safety issues and report them immediately to your manager/supervisor.
- Operate heavy equipment including marine forklifts.
- Be able to operate machinery efficiently, effectively and demonstrate safe handling of vessels
- Use equipment to move vessels in and out of water, to designated workspace, storage, or sales areas
- Inspect, maintain, and repair equipment
- Perform yard work such as pressure washing, block and stand vessels, and general maintenance as required
- Assist with ground maintenance and ensuring overall marina cleanliness
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Sufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate with guests.
- Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in basic English preferred?
- High School Diploma or GED. College Degree Preferred
- Boating and marina experience and must have marina forklift experience with travel lift experience a plus.
- 3 years previous professional operation of heavy machinery preferred
