Job Summary: The Painter position plays a key role in maintaining the aesthetic appeal and overall ambiance of the resort property, ensuring a high-quality experience for our guests. Under the guidance of the Facilities Manager and Director, you will be responsible for performing interior and exterior painting tasks, including touch-ups, refinishing, and full repaints as necessary. In addition to painting walls, ceilings, and other surfaces, you will also assist with minor repairs and surface preparations such as sanding, caulking, and priming. Your expertise will help maintain the resort’s vibrant appearance, contributing to the comfort and satisfaction of our guests while supporting the overall maintenance team in keeping the property in pristine condition.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist the Facilities Manager and Director with maintaining the resort's aesthetic standards through consistent and high-quality painting work.
- Perform interior and exterior painting tasks, including touch-ups, refinishing, and full repaints as necessary to keep the property looking its best.
- Prepare surfaces for painting, including sanding, caulking, priming, and minor repairs such as patching drywall and fixing damaged surfaces.
- Collaborate with the Facilities Team to identify areas that require painting or refinishing and prioritize tasks according to hotel needs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment by properly storing tools and materials, adhering to safety procedures, and minimizing disruptions to guests.
- Respond to painting-related work orders quickly and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Assist with general maintenance tasks outside of painting, including minor repairs to furniture, walls, and surfaces as needed.
- Troubleshoot and perform repairs on surfaces that need additional attention, such as drywall, trim, and decorative features.
- Keep accurate records of work completed, including updates to work orders and inventory of materials used.
- Communicate effectively with other departments to coordinate painting schedules and minimize guest disruptions.
- Follow the hotel's safety procedures and protocols, particularly regarding the use of hazardous materials, paints, and chemicals.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained properly and in safe working condition.
- Adhere to the hotel’s standard operating procedures and maintain a high level of professionalism and craftsmanship in all aspects of painting and maintenance.
- Participate in team meetings and training to stay up-to-date on best practices and resort standards.
- Contribute to the overall upkeep of the property, ensuring all areas reflect the high standards expected by hotel guests and management.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Sufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate with guests.
- Customer service experience is a must. All technicians must be able and willing to interact with guests.
- Mechanical or technical experience in building maintenance is preferred
- Technical knowledge and ability to process work tickets.
- 3-5 years of building maintenance or painting experience is needed.
