Job Description
As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work closely with patients to restore function and prevent disability. Your primary responsibilities include evaluating patient care plans, implementing therapy interventions, and maintaining accurate treatment records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Assist in evaluating and implementing patient care plans, delivering therapeutic interventions, and maintaining accurate treatment records.
- Clinical Collaboration: Communicate with physicians, staff, patients, and families regarding treatment plans and patient progress, and contact referring physicians for updates on care.
- Professional Development: Participate in educational activities and training for students and staff. Engage in personal and professional development opportunities.
- Safety and Ethics: Follow safety protocols, report hazards, and maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with ethical standards.
Position Qualifications:
To be successful as a Physical Therapist Assistant, you should have an Associate's degree or higher in Physical Therapist Assistant curriculum from a CAPTE-accredited program. Relevant field experience is preferred, and CPR certification is required. You must also hold a current Georgia license to practice as a PTA and have completed approved PTA education and examination.
