What are the responsibilities and job description for the CABINET SHOP- PAINT PREPARATION position at The Staffing People?
This employee will be preparing cabinetry for paint in a woodworking environment. This employee will work independently and as team towards goals while learning useful skills.
Job Responsibilities :
Prepare wood surfaces by sanding, scraping, buffing, retouching, and cleaning before it is painted. Use tools such as scrapers, chisels, and knives to reinforce its proper shape. Apply primers and topcoats to prepare and protect the product until it is painted. Clean tools after use according to company policy. Ensure that tools are stored in their proper location. Follow all company safety standards and guidelines. Use appropriate PPE at all times. Communicate effectively with the team. All other duties as assigned.
Must have a valid driver s license. Ability to stand for the majority of the shift. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and be able to bend, stoop, reach, squat, kneel and climb. Motivated and willing to learn.
The work environment may be loud and there will be sawdust / dust.
