The Stage School is currently seeking additional Teaching Artists specializing in Acting, Singing or Dance for several of our 2025 Summer Camps. The camps are held in Park Ridge, IL.

All camps are held Monday - Friday, with performances on Saturday.

½ Day Camp for ages 4 – 6

  • meets from 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM, Monday - Friday
  • Call time 7:30 AM Saturday, performance at 10 AM

Full day camp for ages 6-16

  • meets 9 AM – 3 PM.
  • Performance at 12:30 PM or 6:30 PM. Call time approx. 4.5 hours prior to show time.

Teaching Artists will be expected to be in place and ready for class at least 15 minutes prior to start time. Teaching Artists are also called prior to performance on Saturday to run the final dress rehearsal, as well as required to stay for 1 hour following the performance to assist with student check out and strike.

June 9 - June 14: Seussical Jr (Full Day) / Oh The Places You’ll Go (1/2 Day)

June 16 – June 21: Alice in Wonderland Jr (Full Day) / Peter Rabbit & Friends (1/2 Day)

June 23 – June 28: Mean Girls Jr (Full Day) / Twist & Shout (1/2 Day)

July 7 – July 12: Moana Jr (Full Day) / Maui’s Island Adventure (1/2 Day)

July 14 – July 19: Diary of a Wimpy Kid Youth Edition (Full Day) / Disney on Parade (1/2 Day)

July 21 – July 26: Wizard of Oz (Full Day) / Welcome to Munchkinland (1/2 Day)

Compensation:

  • $1000/week Full Day
  • $600/ week ½ Day

An instructor who can do multiple weeks of camp is preferred but not required. We are open to candidates who can only commit to one full camp week.

Our full day summer camp team consists of a separate Singing Teacher, Dance Teacher, and Acting Teacher, along with our school Principal or Manager. Our ½ day camps are typically staffed with a single Lead Teaching Artist who is responsible for acting, singing and dance, as well as a Teacher’s Assistant, on on-site School Manager.

Teaching Artists are responsible for:

  • direction and staging of the production
  • teaching students of many experience levels and preparing students to give their best performance
  • teaching basic technique and advanced skills through fun and engaging games and activities
  • working with the production team to ensure all camp/production needs are addressed
  • assisting backstage during performance, and with set up and strike as needed.

Ideal teaching candidates will

  • be motivated, energetic, and organized
  • have a strong professional background in the performing arts
  • have experience teaching children ages 4-6 / 6-16
  • have experience in staging and rehearsing musical theater
  • have a passion for teaching life skills to young people through the performing arts.

Please note, the camp location is not easily accessible by public transportation. Reliable transportation is required.
