Stamford Health's Pain Management Center is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their compassionate team of board-certified physicians and advanced practice providers to collaboratively treat acute and chronic pain. This is an opportunity to exercise your patience and understanding to minimize pain to improve quality of life for patients during pain management procedures such as Nerve Blocks and Trigger Point Injections. Responsibilities are approximately 50% clinical and 50% administrative.Schedule : Full-Time, Monday through Friday. 8 : 30 AM to 5 : 00 PM.Location : Stamford Hospital Main Campus Medical Office Building with occasional rotation to Greenwich location approximately 2 to 3 times per month.
- Accompanies patient to exam / procedure room and gives initial patient interview; reviewing patient medical profile, and documents all required charting.
- Obtains and accurately documents patient vital signs, weight : reports any abnormalities to physician.
- Assists with specimen collection.
- Provides minor treatment as directed by physician, assists physicians with minor procedures.
- Provides education as indicated after evaluating the learning needs of the patient and or family.
- As required, schedules patient testing and pre certifies if insurances requires.
- Responds to telephone messages (patient, physician offices etc…)
- Demonstrates knowledge of pain diagnoses, adjunctive medications,
- and alternative treatments, to ensure appropriate patient education.
- Respects and protects the patient's rights to confidentiality and privacy and discloses information only for the professional purposes which are in the patient's best interests with full consideration of their legal rights. Displays a positive attitude when interacting with physician's office staff, physicians and fellow employees of the office.
- Valid license as Licensed Practical Nurse in CT.
- BLS Certification.
