We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable STNA | Medication Aide Clinical Instructor to join our healthcare training team. The instructor will be responsible for providing clinical instruction and guidance to students in both the State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) and Medication Aide programs. The ideal candidate will ensure students gain the necessary hands-on skills, knowledge, and confidence to succeed in long-term care, assisted living, and other healthcare environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instruct and supervise students in clinical settings, ensuring competency in direct patient care, personal care, and medication administration.
- Provide hands-on training in skills such as patient hygiene, mobility assistance, vital signs monitoring, and proper medication administration procedures.
- Ensure students understand and comply with state and federal regulations, including Ohio Department of Health (ODH) and Board of Nursing requirements.
- Conduct competency evaluations and check-offs, providing constructive feedback to enhance student learning.
- Monitor student progress, attendance, and professionalism, reporting performance to the Program Director.
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and engaging clinical learning environment.
- Stay up to date with industry best practices, regulatory changes, and certification requirements.
- Collaborate with healthcare facilities and clinical partners to ensure smooth clinical rotations and positive student experiences.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, clinical hours, and skill checklists.
- Reinforce preparation for STNA and Medication Aide certification exams through practical application and review.
Qualifications:
- Active LPN/RN license in the state of Ohio (or eligible for reciprocity).
- Minimum of , assisted living, or related healthcare settings.
- Prior teaching or clinical instruction experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to engage and mentor students.
- Knowledge of state and federal guidelines governing STNA and Medication Aide practices. Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles.
