Job Summary

Your role will involve performing preventative maintenance, managing work orders, and handling service requests in a timely manner. Additionally, you'll support vendors and inspectors during routine walkthroughs and inspections.

Please note - the salary range for this role is listed below. In addition to salary, our package includes incentive plan participation and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits, as well as an initial PTO accrual of 164 hours per year. Job Summary
As a Building Engineer in the Building Operations Department, you'll be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the functionality of key building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and more. Your role will involve performing preventative maintenance, managing work orders, and handling service requests in a timely manner. Additionally, you'll support vendors and inspectors during routine walkthroughs and inspections.
- 25% Monitor and operate HVAC and lighting systems.
- 15% Perform regular inspections and troubleshooting of building systems.
- 15% Respond promptly to tenant service requests.
- 15% Complete preventative maintenance and repair work orders.
- 10% Perform maintenance on commercial locks and door hardware.
- 10% Manage commercial plumbing repairs.
- 5% Assist with basic project management and vendor coordination.
- 5% Maintain shop and key room cleanliness and organization.
Skills And Background You’ll Need
Must-Haves:
- High school diploma or equivalent (AA preferred).
- 4 years of experience in building engineering or similar roles.
- Proficiency in CMMS and Building Management Software (BMS).
- Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building automation systems.
- Relevant certifications (OSHA 10/30, EPA, CPR/First Aid, BOC I & II, LME, etc.).
- Experience with commercial carpentry and intermediate-level mechanical systems.
- Must be available for travel between Tanasbourne property locations.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working from heights and in confined spaces.
- Ability to perform physical tasks like bending, kneeling, and climbing stairs and ladders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and technical knowledge.
- Adaptability and flexibility, especially in high-pressure situations.
- Effective communicator with a focus on customer service and teamwork.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn and continuously improve.
