Job Summary
We are looking for a Recovery Specialist to proactively recover overpayments and manage sensitive claims for Disability, Life, and Dental claims, as well as Workers Compensation liens, third-party recovery, and subrogation. This role involves direct communication with debtors, attorneys, and representatives to negotiate settlements and repayment plans for high-balance, complex cases. You'll manage ongoing collections, monitor progress, and ensure recovery goals are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform overpayment collections and negotiate settlements on high-balance claims via phone and direct communication.
- Manage and approve contract agreements, subrogation, and lien settlements.
- Provide training and guidance to department staff on handling complex claims.
- Create and track reports on collection activities, ensuring timely and accurate updates.
- Approve ongoing repayment plans and monitor the accuracy of system data input.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment is a requirement of the role. *
Skills and Background You'll Need
- Must-have:
Associate
- 's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- 2 years of experience in high-volume phone-based negotiation and collections.
- Preferred:
Bachelor
- 's degree in a related field.
- Experience with claims recovery, subrogation, or lien settlements.
- Strong customer service and negotiation skills, with an ability to think critically and make decisions under pressure.

Please note - the salary range for this role is listed below. In addition to salary, our package includes incentive plan participation and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits, as well as an initial PTO accrual of 164 hours per year. Employees also receive 11 paid holidays and 2 wellness days per year.
Eligibility to participate in an incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program and plan. Any award depends on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.
Salary Range:
24.76 - 36.30Positions will be posted for at least 5 days from original posting date.
