Description
- Audit daily reports, EMR to lab systems, pharmacy log and medical record and verify correctness. Also audit for coding in compliance with CCI and STOH policy and procedures.
- Identify and research any new drugs being administered, provide documentation on NCCN, 4CD, or Clinical Policies and participate in the development of educational materials for clinical staff and submit for approval.
- Provide continuous education and feedback to the clinical staff to include, nursing, pharmacy and physicians with respect to Federal, State regulations as well as STOHs policies and procedures as they relate to coding and billing.
- Responsible for staying current with Federal and State regulations and providing continuous education and feedback to the billing and clinical staff.
- Perform concurrent chart audits as directed as well as participate in retrospective audits as defined by the STOH Corporate Compliance Handbook.
- Perform end of month audit of all charges input in the medical billing system to verify completeness and accuracy.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent with 3 5 years experience in medical billing, ICD, CPT and Diagnosis/Procedure coding. Demonstrated expertise in spreadsheet and word processing applications.
