JOB DESCRIPTION:
The START Center for Cancer Care is looking to hire a medical dosimetrist to join a team of 3 other dosimetrists. The dosimetrist will be responsible for collaborating with radiation oncologists to design and calculate optimal treatment plans for radiation therapy patients. The dosimetrist will also work with the medical physics staff to ensure accurate, safe and efficient treatments.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design treatment plans using Eclipse treatment planning system, in accordance with guidance from the radiation oncologist, for a variety of treatment sites.
- Utilize advanced imaging modalities (including but not limited to MRI and PET scans) for tumor and critical structure localization and planning.
- Provide guidance and training to students learning dosimetry.
- Collaborate with Medical Physicists, Radiation Oncologists, and Radiation Therapist to ensure that patients receive the optimal treatment plan.
- Collaborate with radiation oncology staff in quality improvement processes.
Qualifications
- Certification in Medical Dosimetry.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in dosimetry.
- Experience with Eclipse and Aria preferred.
