Duties and Responsibilities
The Data Processing Manager reports to the Enterprise Data Manager for the Bureau of Enterprise Data Management. This position supervises the Oracle database team, which is primarily focused on supporting the Department’s Oracle database needs. This position is also responsible for defining future enterprise data architecture vision, strategy, principles and standards for the Oracle environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Skill in data or information architecture
- Skill in supervising or leading technical staff.
- Skill in database administration, design and data modeling
- Skill in Oracle database administration
- Skill with data migration including validation, clean-up and mapping
- Knowledge of Oracle software installation, patching, and upgrading
- Knowledge of Oracle Backup and Recovery
- Knowledge of SQL, SML and XSLT
- Knowledge of data/information security, privacy and protection initiatives
- Knowledge of ETL, data warehousing, reporting and analytics
- Knowledge of data encryption techniques and industry standards
- Knowledge of industry standards and architectures
- Knowledge of design and integration principles for complex, heterogeneous databases
- Knowledge of object-oriented application development utilizing a relational database
- Ability to effectively diagnose, isolate, and resolve complex problems pertaining to data infrastructure
- Ability to evaluate and make recommendations regarding data integrity
- Ability to develop methods of ensuring data incompatibilities among systems are systematically eliminated
- Ability to project database resource requirements including personnel, software, equipment and facilities.
- Ability to maintain currency on tools, methodologies, and technologies related to data architecture
- Ability to develop policies, procedures, and standards documents related to data
- Ability to translate and communicate complex technical terminology, concepts and issues in terms understandable to technical and non-technical management and resource staff both verbally and in writing
- Strong interpersonal skills to resolve problems in a professional manner
- Ability to work well in a team environment, and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others

Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to applicants who have experience in the following:
- Database administration experience
- Experience supervising or leading technical staff
- Experience with database design and data modeling.
- Oracle database administration and/or development.
- Experience in large scale system implementation.
- Experience addressing data migration issues such as validation, clean-up and mapping
Job Related Requirements
- The position you are applying is subject to a Level 2 background check, along with Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) clearance, to include a fingerprint-based check of the criminal records of the FBI, as a condition of employment pursuant to Chapter 110.1127, 435 and 943, Florida Statutes. Please note that, since this position requires CJIS clearance, the Department will have access to all an applicant’s criminal and juvenile delinquency records, even those that have been sealed or expunged.

General Information
- The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.
- Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI. Fingerprints and associated information/biometrics will be retained in the FBI’s Next Generation Identification (NGI) system and fingerprints may continue to be compared against fingerprints submitted to or retained by NGI.
- FLHSMV employees are paid once a month on the last workday of each month. All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes.
