Salary: $50,858.86 annually

SPECIFIC DUTIES:
This position is responsible for the direction and supervision of all phases of the Utilities Department. This position will be responsible for the daily operations of all institutional boiler rooms are inspected and checked for proper operation a minimum of once per 8-hour shift, 7 days per week, 24-hour time span.
The duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Responsible for securing all replacement parts and materials to ensure a smooth daily operation of the boiler rooms and powerhouses at FSP, UCI, and NFRC. The power plant consists of responsibility of the maintenance and effective operation of the following: (1) two oil or gas fired 3 million BTU/HR, C.E. Lamont controlled circulation hot water boilers, (2) one natural or LP gas fired, 100 HP Cleaver Brooks, packaged hot water boiler, (3) one natural or LP gas fired 50 HP Cleaver Brooks steam boiler, (4) One 500 KW and one 900 KW emergency diesel generators, and electrical switch generator that provide emergency power for the Control Room and Medical Unit. Responsibilities also include other auxiliary equipment which related to the operation of the Power Plant, both form a technical point of view and relative to the various duties of the powerhouse.
- Planning and supervising preventative maintenance and repairs to equipment at the power plant related areas.
- Inspects and supervises the operation of the power plant and related equipment.
- Assignment of personnel to work schedule, making out leave schedules and keeping timesheets.
- Maintains and checks logs for preventative maintenance and repairs.
- Trains personnel assigned to the power plant.
- Trains and counsels inmates assigned to the power plant.
- Maintains inventory control of all tools assigned to the power plant.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Five (5) years of commercial/industrial experience in one or more of the following trades: Electronics, Electrical, Plumbing or HVAC
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with generators and electrical controls
- Experience with Boilers
