POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is in the Office of Human Resources, reporting to the Member Support Services section/Special Projects subsection. This is a full-time position that works closely with the Special Projects human resource manager and consultant, FDLE management and Command Staff, and the Department of Management Services.


SPECIAL NOTE:

Preference may be given to internal FDLE members.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties include:

  • Completing independent and directed special projects regarding personnel and employee relations issues;
  • Conducting special studies and inquiries to analyze problems and issues stemming from management practices and recommends corrective action;
  • Running People First BOBJ (Business Objects) reports and conducts special research of a confidential nature;
  • Assisting with coordinating reclassification, reorganization, and other special project requests within FDLE and with Department of Management Services; and
  • Assisting with developing and creating human resource trainings within FDLE.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis;
  • Knowledge of basic management principles and practices;
  • Knowledge of rules, policies and procedures related to human resources;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Vizio and Articulate-Rise 360 preferred;
  • Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document work flow and other activities relating to the improvement of management practices;
  • Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials;
  • Ability to conduct fact finding research;
  • Ability to utilize problem solving techniques;
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively;
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments;
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others;
  • Ability to interpret statutes, rules, policies and procedures; and
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.

BASE SALARY:

  • $52,530.00

Starting salary will be the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLE’s pay policy. FDLE is a State of Florida Employer and offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:

BACKGROUND:

FDLE requires an extensive background process of all recommended applicants. The elements of a background include: financial credit check, criminal history of applicant and applicant’s immediate family or roommates, personal references, employment and education verifications (which includes official transcript(s)), drug screen and fingerprinting. This information will be utilized to make the final hiring decision.


NOTES:

Preference will be given to current FDLE members who have satisfactorily completed at least six months of the probationary period for their current position.
