Your Specific Responsibilities:

This position is for a system analyst for data systems and reports to the Data Systems Unit Manager within the Surveillance Section, Bureau of Epidemiology. This position serves as a system analyst who will primarily work with electronic case reporting (eCR) to support the analysis and processing of eCR data into Florida’s reportable disease surveillance system. This position requires a person who is attentive to details, organized, possesses strong data and informatics skills, and the ability to meet deadlines. The following duties and responsibilities are assigned to this position:

  • Work with the eCR team to ensure daily operations function as needed and perform daily data analysis
  • Provide technical assistance or consultative services in the evaluation of eCR data through dashboards and reports
  • Work with facilities to ensure standards for eCR are met during the onboarding and continuing during post-production. Communication may include emails, phone calls, and meetings with external stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain data dashboards for eCR using software such as Qlik
  • Assist with data quality reports for eCR utilizing statistical computing languages such as SQL, SAS, and R or other analytical tools
  • Create and maintain a list of programming language queries/programs that members of the eCR team may reference
  • Maintain metadata and documentation to support eCR operations, such as eCR baseline documentation, validation Smartsheet tracking documents, and standard operating procedures
  • Submit project deliverable updates for grants related to eCR incumbent may be required to work before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. This may include working in a special needs shelter or Red Cross shelter, or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural.
