POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is under the direct supervision of the CJIS Manager I, this position is responsible for the processing of applications from the public related to the seal and expunge process. This position requires extensive research using multiple databases to ensure applications are properly processed with accurate information. Conduct research for accurate and complete criminal justice information by utilizing internal and external databases. This position is also responsible for providing quality service to the public regarding the seal and expunge process as well as state and federal guidelines. This position must meet and maintain NCIC/FCIC certification as required and is responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of data housed within the department databases.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties include:

  • Conducting research for relevant information from multiple databases and resources;
  • Analyzing multiple source documents to form a recommendation and decision for eligibility requirements for the expunction or sealing of criminal history records;
  • Ensuring internal documentation for criminal justice information updates includes extensive notation and markup to justify recommended updates to criminal history records;
  • Processing requests for the dissemination of records in compliance with state statute as requested;
  • Maintaining security and integrity of data housed within the department databases;
  • Responding to written requests for information from customers;
  • Answering incoming calls as assigned and communicates effectively;
  • Evaluating fingerprint cards received for legibility and routes as required; and
  • Ensures misrouted calls are handled correctly and distributed to the appropriate section.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of general office procedures and practices;
  • Knowledge of the Office of Financial Management payment processing procedures;
  • Ability to record, collect, evaluates, and analyzes data;
  • Ability to organize files, records and/or other materials;
  • Ability to sort data alphabetically, numerically, and categorically;
  • Ability to operate personal computers and other office equipment;
  • Ability to read and interpret law enforcement data;
  • Ability to follow instructions;
  • Ability to review data for accuracy and completeness;
  • Ability to read and interpret state statutes;
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments;
  • Ability to communicate effectively; and
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

BASE SALARY:

  • $18.82/hour

OUR SALARY & OPS BENEFITS:

Starting hourly salary will be the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLE’s pay policy. FDLE is a State of Florida Employer and offers a comprehensive OPS benefits package (ONLY available to OPS members who will be working 30 or more hours a week), including:

BACKGROUND:

FDLE requires an extensive background process of all recommended applicants. The elements of a background include: financial credit check, criminal history of applicant and applicant’s immediate family or roommates, personal references, employment and education verifications (which includes official transcript(s)), drug screen and fingerprinting. This information will be utilized to make the final hiring decision.


NOTES:

Preference will be given to current FDLE members who have satisfactorily completed at least six months of the probationary period for their current position.
