Your Specific Responsibilities:
Working under the direct supervision of the ASSISTANT COMM HEALTH NURSING DIRECTOR, the incumbent will perform clinical support functions for the family planning, sexually transmitted disease (STD) and specialty care programs. This position performs direct care, phlebotomy, general laboratory duties, computer data entry, and assist the RN with medical case management. The position is expected to have excellent customer service skills in working with a wide variety of diverse clients. This position may work in any one of the four clinic settings.
General clinic duties
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Measuring height and weight, obtaining vital signs; testing visual and auditory acuity using eye charts and audiometer, Observation of clients taking prescribed oral medications: providing clear and accurate client information and documentation. Assisting providers with medical exams, client follow-up including, but not limited to, responding to telephone messages, making calls to clients, obtaining laboratory and test results. Cleaning and stocking of exam rooms, inventory of medical supplies, instrument and equipment cleaning, disinfection and autoclaving of instruments as needed.
Perform chart preparations in advance of patient clinic appointments, including obtaining appropriate blood work, radiological results, and referral reports for appointments.
Assist with medical records requests - Electronic Fax receiving and sending, scanning, etc.
Laboratory
Performs venipuncture, collect, package and ship specimen, perform point of care testing. Perform quality control testing and operate a variety of standard laboratory analysers and equipment.
Miscellaneous duties
Subject to emergency duty in the event of a natural disaster
Completion of all mandatory or assigned trainings within the required time frame.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
Ability to plan, organize and coordiante work activities
Ability to operate commonly used office and medical equipment such as computers, printers, fax machines, vital signs monitors, autoclave and lab analyzers and centrifuge
Qualifications:
Minimum -
