OPS - IT BUSINESS ANALYST
FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF THE LOTTERY – DIVISION OF GAMING AND OPERATIONS

**OPS Full-Time: 40 hours per week, $20.00 per hour**
General Position Description:
With direct supervision, learn and help identify, define, and document business processes and software requirements to be developed as software. Assist business analysts from concept thru delivery to support using project management principles.
Essential Duties:
- Obtain an understanding of relevant business area(s)
- Learn variety of techniques, such as interviews, workshops, surveys, site visits, and storyboards to understand how to collect and document business requirements.
- Participate in customer interviews to identify needs and document strengths and weakness identified by the customer.
- Help document current processes and models to understand inefficiencies or gaps.
- Learn to translate conceptual user requirements into clear, detailed functional requirements.
- Participate in the creation of artifacts as appropriate, including business case documentation, scope documentation, and process flows.
- Support delivery teams as they develop, test, and deploy solutions.
- Execute test cases.
- Assist in the creation of end user and support training material.
- Understand and consistently meet customer expectations, responding promptly to customer enquiries.
- Each employee is expected to be knowledgeable of the Lottery’s Responsible Gaming program, including the No Underage Play and Play Within Your Means messaging, and will ensure retailers and players are aware of the program and provided information, as necessary.
Skills & Competencies:
- Ability to learn the objectives, structures, operations, and policies of a new business area.
- Ability to help create documentation such as business case documentation or business requirements summaries, project plans, test plans and end user and support training material.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to build strong working relationships with customers and project team members
- Adaptability and a willingness to learn new skills.
- Typing and basic PC skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (not required):
- Enrolled in an information technology school or information technology curriculum at a college or university (or have at least two (2) years of IT or project management experience).
MINIMUM AGENCY-WIDE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Successful passing of a criminal background check (state, local, and national) is required.
- Maintains strict confidentiality of information learned while working with the Florida Lottery, whether learned through assigned duties or through working with other units. The types of confidential information may include, but are not limited to, payroll information, budget matters, policy decisions, tax matters, employee disciplinary issues, and other personnel data.
