Compensation: $32,760.00 annually. $15.75 hourly depending upon education, experience or qualifications.

Position Summary & Responsibilities:
Position Summary: This position is located at the Larned State Correctional Facility and performs paraprofessional accounting work in the maintenance, review, and reconciliation of financial records to ensure compliance with accepted accounting principles and standards.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
- Coordinates the accounts payable activities with the purchasing function for the facility by providing timely payment to vendors and other state agencies for goods and services rendered. Serves as agency contact regarding questions on accounts payables from vendors and other state agencies.
- Processes resident release paperwork to cash out residents upon release to Classification and Records. Reconciles monthly bank statements for the Inmate Benefit Fund, General Fee Fund, and the Imprest Fund.
- Serves as the agency's resource for employee travel and reimbursement information, providing direction on travel procedures and regulations. Obtains receipts and travel information from employees and submits travel payment. Maintains log of all official requests for employee travel.
- Serves as custodian of the Employee Use Fund. Audits all transactions for conformity to Department of Administration policies and procedures.
- Provides administrative support to the Business Services/Accounting Department which includes mail distribution, ordering office supplies, answering telephone, assisting employees with special orders, and assisting Accountant III with fiscal year-end tracking or budget preparation and other statistical data.
- Serves as back up to Accountant III duties necessary for completion when Accountant III is absent. Performs other duties as assigned. Functions as the agency contact for office equipment with maintenance agreements.
Qualifications:
Licensing & Certification : Must have a valid driver's license and provide a copy.
Minimum Qualifications : Must have one year of experience in accounting/auditing support work. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency. Transcripts are required for education to be considered.
Preferred Qualifications : Knowledge of QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft programs necessary. Two years of experience related to or in support of accounting/business functions.
