Compensation:

  • Hourly Pay Range: Pay is commensurate with experience
  • Business Analyst I: $31.47 – 36.19
  • Business Analyst II: $36.19 – 41.62

Note: Salary can vary depending upon education, experience, or qualifications.

Position Summary & Responsibilities:

Position Summary:

The Business Analyst (BA) uses data and analysis to identify problems and opportunities within the agency. Recommendations of solutions to improve business processes and achieve organizational goals by evaluating operations, researching market trends, and collaborating with stakeholders to implement strategic changes.

Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Work with key stakeholders to gather and document requirements
  • Gathering and analyzing data from various sources like financial reports, market research, and operational systems to identify patterns and trends
  • Identify root causes of business issues and propose solutions to address them
  • Effectively communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels, including management, project teams, and vendors.
  • Assist in the development use cases and conduct usability studies where appropriate and necessary
  • Ability to perform gap analysis, map out processes, and identify areas for improvement
  • Build tools to create efficiency in daily agency operations

Qualifications:

Education

  • BA I - Bachelor’s degree. Experience may be substituted as determined relevant
  • BA II – 4 years of experience as a Business Analyst and a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent job experience

Licensing & Certification

  • Kansas Business Analyst Certification (within 1 year of employment)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficient with personal computer and associated productivity tools
  • Ability to work well with others at all organizational and skill levels

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with capturing business and functional requirements.
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification
  • Skilled in using methodologies and tools sets compatible with business analysis.
  • Familiar with use of Excel, PowerBI, Visio

  • As a condition of employment, you will be subject to a pre-employment process to include a polygraph examination, fingerprint based records check, and comprehensive background investigation, including reference check of past and present employers. The pre-employment process will be waived for current KBI personnel who have previously completed the screening requirements
