Position Summary & Responsibilities:
This position supports the Special Education & Title Services (SETS) team to implement general supervision activities for the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA) and emergency federal relief grants, including Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER). This position is critical in order to uphold Kansas State Department of Education’s (KSDE) responsibility to provide leadership and ensure compliance with state and federal statutes and regulations for schools that receive ESSER aid, or are identified to receive comprehensive, additional targeted or targeted support and improvement. Principally, this position coordinates the design, implementation and support for state and local data collections, monitoring and reporting related to the relevant Coronavirus relief acts and related subsequent laws, as well as providing supplementary support for existing IDEA and ESEA reporting requirements. This position is also the lead for Title I schoolwide buildings and planning.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in relevant degree field(s) as determined by the agency. Experience may be substituted for education as deemed relevant by the agency.
Preferred Skills and/or Qualifications:
- Advanced degree from an accredited university or college in relevant degree field(s) as determined by the agency;
- Qualification for valid teaching license;
- Ability to facilitate and work effectively in groups and team settings;
- Effective interpersonal and customer service skills;
- Effective oral presentation skills;
- Effective time-management skills;
- Effective writing skills;
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills;
- Effective planning skills;
- Knowledge of primary grade reading processes, skills and programs;
- Data driven decision making process, including proficiency with Excel; and
- Knowledge of ESSER grant requirements.
Preferred Experience:
- Professional training as a teacher, educational administrator, evaluator or curriculum and instruction leader; and
- Knowledge and implementation of evidence-based instructional practices.
