Compensation:
- Annual Salary/Hourly Rate: $59,513 - $68,439 / Annual

Position Summary:
The IT Asset Management Specialist II will be in the Office of Information Technology Services (OITS) and be part of the Chief Experience Officer (CXO) team reporting directly to Deputy Chief Experience Officer. Responsible for administration of information technology assets (hardware and software) and technical service contracts; implementing and administering IT asset management systems; tracking IT asset life cycle and inventory; and maintaining supplier records, service level agreements, and software license information/updates. Additional responsibilities include developing enterprise-wide IT purchasing standards and procedures; receiving new equipment/software requests; verifying financial data (e.g., leased, depreciated, or expensed), and monitoring and reconciling changes in inventory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administration of information technology assets (hardware and software) and technical service contracts
- Tracking IT asset life cycle and inventory
- Maintaining supplier records, service level agreements, and software license information and updates
- Developing enterprise-wide IT purchasing standards and procedures
- Receiving/Submitting new equipment/software requests
- Verifying financial data (e.g., leased, depreciated, or expensed), and monitoring and reconciling changes in inventory
- Obtains financing for hardware and/or software purchases
- Acquisition of local office IT technology and related software including multi-user computers and peripherals, personal computing (PC) devices and peripherals, audio/video equipment, and the local area network (LAN)
- Analyzing and evaluating technology products available in the marketplace for affordability, compatibility, expandability, and ease of use/support
- Assisting in the installation, tailoring, testing, documentation, and maintenance of asset management applications
- Analyze user requirements, procedures and problems to automate, improve existing asset management systems, add additional features and review computer system capabilities, and workflows
- Assist in finding alternative solutions for legacy applications
- Acts as subject matter export in asset management applications
- Respond to stakeholder questions and issues to ensure that stakeholder issues are being addressed. Ability to explain and resolve issues in a professional manner and in a way that the Business user can understand and comprehend. Take ownership of reported issues and update stakeholders until the issue has been resolved.
- Cultivate and maintain critical relationships with executives, end users, IT leadership and vendors
- Provide technical input and assistance with Projects.
- Maintain project timeframes, objectives and communications related to technical tasks assigned
- Create required documentation and reports for projects
- Evaluate and Improve performance: Use various metrics and indicators, to assess asset management and customer satisfaction and identify any gaps or weaknesses that need to be addressed.
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of ITSM and ITIL Foundation including incident management, system support, policy and procedure development, and problem management processes.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems, license management tools, or IT service management (ITSM) platforms such as ServiceNow
- Familiarity with tracking/renewing/creating software license agreements
- Familiarity with the acquisition and disposal of IT assets
- Familiarity with contract management
- Experience in training on operational procedures and troubleshooting techniques
- An understanding of team dynamics, including what factors make a team work well and what can go wrong. Team experiences essential - must work well in a team
- Must have experience with gathering and analyzing metrics to benchmark asset management and identify trends and issues
- Highly collaborative with great diplomacy, analytical and organizational skills
- Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively communicate with and work collaboratively with Agency technical teams as well as Agency leadership and business unit management
- Must possess critical thinking skills, using logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses and can seek alternative solutions, conclusions, and approaches to problems
- Able to communicate technical topics to a non-technical audience and vice-versa, through presentations, reports, facilitations, etc.
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience:
- 3 years working experience Asset Management
Familiarity with:
- Inventory management systems, license management tools, or IT service management (ITSM) platforms such as ServiceNow
- Tracking software license agreements
- Acquisition and disposal of IT assets
- IT concepts such as computer hardware, software, and networking technologies
Education:
- Associate degree in Business Administration, Information Technology Management, or a related field
- ITIL v4 Foundations required one year within employment
- A combination of education, training, and experience may be substituted when competency in the role is demonstrated.
Necessary Special Requirements: Ability to obtain and retain an OITS Security and KCJIS clearances are requirement of employment and continued employment.
