Compensation:

Pay Range: $26.00 to $28.00 hourly

Note: Salary can vary depending upon education, experience, or qualifications.

Position Summary & Responsibilities:

The Kansas Tourism Fiscal Manager will develop and administer the division‘s budget, manage the preparation and processing of all Kansas Tourism deposits, invoices, payment vouchers, fiscal authorizations, grant reimbursements, and approvals.

This position will serve as the primary liaison for financial matters between the Kansas Tourism team and the Commerce Fiscal Division. As well as act as the division's purchasing manager, handling procurement tasks such as drafting prior authorizations and creating purchase orders.

Responsibilities:

Budget Management

  • Develops and administers the division’s budget, assisting program managers in identifying expenditures and forecasting revenue for budget planning
  • Provides timely budget reports as needed
  • Provides budgetary guidance to ensure financial alignment with organizational goals and state requirements.

Fiscal Responsibilities:

  • Manages the preparation and processing of all Kansas Tourism deposits, invoices, payment vouchers, fiscal authorizations, grant reimbursements, and approvals, within the State of Kansas fiscal system (SMART), ensuring compliance with state policies.
  • Serves as the primary liaison for financial matters between the Kansas Tourism team and the Commerce Fiscal Division to ensure fiscal accuracy and efficiency. Effectively communicates with Kansas Tourism team members for fiscal practices and efficiency.
  • Works with Tourism vendors and suppliers for invoices and receipts as needed to complete all Fiscal process.

Special Projects/Other Tasks

  • Participates in team meetings, providing updates on financial matters and contributing to strategic discussion.
  • Completes special projects as assigned by the Kansas Tourism Director
  • Provides support for Tourism grant programs, such as occasionally reviewing applications, completing fiscal reimbursements, and attending grant award presentations or grand openings.
  • Occasionally travel for tourism industry-related events such as the Kansas Tourism conference, Tourism grant road trips, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • One year of experience in Accounting, Budget Management, Business, or a tourism-related industry.

Experience in Accounting, Budget Management, Business or Tourism Industry may substitute for a degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preferred candidates will have a degree in Accounting, Business, Economic Development, Tourism, or a related field.
