The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has a Long-Term Follow-Up Program Manager opening in Topeka.

The Long-Term Follow-Up Program Manager is a dynamic position with an opportunity to support our short-term programming as well as create a vision for long-term follow-up in Kansas for our newborn screening program. Seeking candidates with a growth mindset and eagerness to learn while taking on new opportunities.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
Conduct planning and establish roadmap for Long-Term Follow-Up (LTFU) implementation. Activities include but are not limited to development of LFTU protocols and procedures, identifying data sources, establishing cooperative agreements and LTFU data measures, as well as responsible for establishment of a registry for LTFU.
Assess supports and relationships across the span of Newborn Screening (NBS) conditions, identify gaps and partnership opportunities to ensure comprehensive support to families upon identification of condition.
Support and assist STFU in the closure of cases to ensure LTFU has a comprehensive caseload from which to work. This may involve advanced investigative support to resolve open case management awaiting final diagnosis, as well as ensuring NBS data has been submitted to NewSteps and other state/national partners in a timely manner.

Licensing & Certification:
- Valid Driver's License - Incumbent is required to have and maintain a valid driver's license when operating a state vehicle, a private vehicle, or a rental vehicle for the benefit of the State.

Minimum Qualifications:
- One or more years' experience in a field related to newborn screening or bachelor's degree in related field can be substituted for experience.
- One or more years of experience in grant writing and/or management, and contract development.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, project management, or related field.
- Master’s degree in public health, project management, or related field.
- One year of experience in planning, organizing, and engaging with the work of neonatal health, maternal/child health, public health, nursing, genetics, or related field.
- Experience in facilitating and organizing the work of community and professional groups.
