Position Summary & Responsibilities
Position Summary :
The position (K0246383) Managed Care Oversight for UM processes : Directs oversight for managed care entity utilization management decisions, review of processes and quality performance. Works with Medicaid Medical Deputy Director, RN Clinical Manager, and managed care organizations to address clinical issues around policy and UM processes. Performs other oversight activities (medical case reviews) as needed / assigned by Medicaid Director or Medicaid Medical Bureau Deputy Director.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following : Provides consultation to Medicaid Medical Bureau team for regular review of clinical quality measures submitted by contracted managed care organizations for completeness and adherence to state and contract requirements. May participate in the development of quality requirements for the Medicaid program. Participates in clinical portion of annual MCO performance reviews to ensure KanCare members are provided quality and evidenced-based clinical services and coverage.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Valid Driver's License - Incumbent is required to have and maintain a valid driver's license when operating a state vehicle, a private vehicle, or a rental vehicle for the benefit of the State.
Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy (MD or DO) with past state experience working at a Medicaid managed care organization
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
Preferred : Medical Doctorate and license to practice medicine in the State of Kansas, or ability to obtain a license to practice in the State of Kansas are required; instructional, research, or consultative experience would be a plus.
