Position Summary & Responsibilities
Position Summary:
This position exists to do maintenance of interior and exterior surfaces of agency buildings and furnishings as close as possible to new condition. Also to repair and replace glass to prevent hazardous conditions and possible elopement by consumers. May assist other trade workers. Identifies and provides quality consumer services.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
Painting Interiors of Agency Buildings
- Prep - sand and scraping.
- Fill cracks and/or needed repairs - report any extensive repairs needed.
- Apply primer using ladders, scaffolding, etc.
- Apply finish using ladders, scaffolding, etc.
- Apply undercoat and enamel to trim and windows.
Paint Exteriors of Agency Buildings
- Prep by scraping, water pressure, sandblast, etc.
- Fill cracks, holes, and/or report any repairs to be made.
- Prime – using ladders, boom truck, stationary boom, forklift.
- Finish coat – same methods as above.
- Airless, if applicable.
- Paint crosswalks and curbs annually
Paint or Refinish Furnishings
- Metal desks, chairs, file cabinets.
- Bookcases, tables, etc.
- Mix and proper application of paints and finishes.
- Refinish gym floor annually.
Glass Repair
- Remove glazing and broken window glass.
- Measure glass – cut glass.
- Install glass with glass clips or points and glaze.
Miscellaneous Duties
- Make laminate signs and install signs.
- Christmas decorations, move from storage to LSH units, back to storage.
- Subject to call back, standby, irregular hours, and scheduled weekend duty.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Six months of experience as a painter. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
- Valid Drivers License at time of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Must possess any combination of the following to equal 2 ½ years. Experience in painting trade materials and tools. Experience in painting work and/or education at post high school level in painting.
Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements:
- Ability to pass a KBI background.
