Position Summary & Responsibilities
Position Summary:
The purpose of this position is to assist in the oversight of Juvenile Community Supervision agencies who receive state general funds through a grant process. This position coordinates and conducts fidelity and quality assurance reviews of juvenile community supervision agencies; providing feedback and recommendations to ensure fidelity to evidence-based principles and compliance with KDOC operating standards. This position will work with other division staff to ensure juvenile supervision agencies implement quality assurance practices in accordance with their annual comprehensive plans and in compliance with policies, procedures, statutes and regulations, etc. Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with Directors, staff, advisory board members and other community agencies/partners is necessary in this position.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
In conjunction with other division staff, develop and implement a plan to conduct fidelity and quality assurance reviews/audits of all juvenile supervision agencies, including:
- Developing and maintaining necessary review/audit tools;
- Scheduling and conducting on site and/or remote reviews/audits;
- Preparing reports from reviews/audits, with recommendations;
- Reporting findings;
- Taking steps as directed by supervisor to follow up on recommendations.
- Preparing aggregate reports regarding findings in audits, and recommendations.
In conjunction with other division staff, provide, across all agency levels, the feedback, coaching, modeling, training and other support necessary to help juvenile supervision agencies increase their capacity to engage in fidelity and quality assurance practices.
In conjunction with other division staff, develop, implement and maintain a Quality Assurance Standards Manual for juvenile supervision agencies.
In conjunction with other division staff, perform an annual review of the Community Supervision Standards for Juvenile Intensive Supervised Probation and Community Case Management programs; present recommended changes to the Director of Grants and Quality Assurance and the Director of Community Based Services; implement approved changes.
Assist in reviewing juvenile supervision agency grant applications and quarterly outcome reports.
Assist the Director of Grants and Quality Assurance in data collection and analysis; in reporting on trends and progress; in providing updates; in carrying out on site meetings, trainings, and statewide conferences; and otherwise supporting recidivism-reduction capacity-building in juvenile supervision agencies and the department.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
One year of experience in planning, implementing and monitoring activities relevant to the agency’s programs. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree with 24 credit hours in criminal justice, social sciences, or behavioral sciences.
One year of experience working with offenders or other high risk population.
Experience auditing programs or services, including observing group work.
Experience in group facilitation. Experience in skills coaching.
Experience in writing reports or other technical documents.
Demonstrated ability to engage, coach and motivate.
Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of and experience in implementing evidence-based practices.
Strong interpersonal skills and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to develop strong collaborative working relationships.
Position requires the ability to be creative, use independent judgment, to think critically and adjust to a wide range of situations
