Position Summary & Responsibilities:
Position Summary:
This Public Service Executive II position is located in Topeka, at the Eisenhower State Office Building, and is within the Bureau of Maintenance. This position manages the Capital Improvement Program for the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) and will work with the Office of Facilities and Property Management to get projects designed and follow them through construction. The Public Service Executive II also works with the Bureau of Fiscal Services regarding the building inventory and tracking of costs for the Capital Improvement Program.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
- Manages the agency statewide Capital Improvement Program (buildings, land, SRA).
- Assists with the capital inventory for statewide facilities including agency buildings, SRA, and land.
- Conducts management and cost analyses of the capital inventory system data and prepares reports of findings for the Bureau Chief.
- Attends the biannual District Maintenance Engineer’s meetings, and other meetings/conferences as assigned by the Bureau Chief, prepared to present capital improvement plans and seek input for the direction of the plan.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Two years of experience in planning, organizing and directing the work of a department, program or agency.
- Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency. Transcripts are required for education to be considered.
- Valid Driver’s License at time of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with construction administration and on-site construction inspection.
- General computer skills necessary related to documentation, reports and/or data entry.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including but not limited to: Excel, Word, Access, & Teams.
