Position Summary & Responsibilities
Position Summary: This position is responsible to accurately prepare and deliver merchandise from warehouse stock to department throughout the facility while maintaining an adequate level of security to eliminate any chance of contraband entering the facility.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
- Conducts inventories of all merchandise being delivered to the various departments within the institution. This involves matching quantities as listed on Receiving/Requisitions with actual counts of merchandise prior to loading and once again at delivery sites.
- Receives merchandise from private delivery vendors and prepares receiving reports for same. Checks deliveries for proper quality and quantity against purchase orders t prevent discrepancies and shortages through consultations with delivery personnel.
- Fills merchandise orders utilizing and supervising a crew of four to eight residents from warehouse stock which requires warehousing knowledge and skills to order accurately prepare departmental orders for deliver.
- Incumbent is cross-trained in the duties of other Storekeepers assigned to the main store warehouse.
Qualifications
Licensing & Certification: Driver's License
Minimum Qualifications: One year of experience in storekeeping, including receiving, inspecting, cataloging, and storing goods and maintaining inventory levels. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
Preferred Qualifications: Two years in keeping if stores, supply records and warehouse operations. Ability to operate materials handling equipment including, but not limited to, a two-ton truck and forklift.
Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements: Must take and pass a drug screening test approved by the Division of Personnel Services unless the incumbent is moving from one safety-sensitive position to another safety-sensitive position within the same agency performing substantially similar duties. May be required to pass a background check.
