AGENCY SUMMARY

The Service Oklahoma (SOK) mission is to ease the stress in navigating government services by providing a best-in-class customer experience. We are Oklahomans helping Oklahomans by providing driver license and motor vehicle services on behalf of the state.

This position has an annual rate of $78,500.00.

The Service Oklahoma offers a generous benefits package, including a benefits allowance to off-set the costs of medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance plans. The Service Oklahoma will match up to 7% towards an employee’s Defined Contribution retirement plan. Our employees receive 11 paid holidays, 15 days of paid annual leave, which increases with every 5 years of service, and 15 days of paid sick leave. Additionally, employees will receive longevity payments based on their years of service with the State of Oklahoma.
Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The MV Manager provides critical support to the Development & Support Division by supervising an assigned team on a regular and consistent basis to determine compliance with motor vehicle laws and regulations, generally accepted accounting procedures, financial accountability standards or other requirements have been met.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees the staff selection process, orientation, training, and personal growth opportunities for employees in assigned section.
  • Communicates job expectations for personal growth opportunities for team members.
  • Plans, monitors, and assesses job performance.
  • Seeks to build relationships and team climate in which employees are encouraged to meet their full potential and promote agency excellence.
  • Plans, monitors, and appraises job performance.
  • Provides assistance in the coaching, counseling, and discipline of employees.
  • Immediately addresses performance areas of concern and follows the Progressive Discipline Guidelines
  • Maintains quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards by analyzing and resolving customer service problems thru system enhancement recommendations.
  • Analyzes processes and workflows for inefficiencies and makes recommendations for enhancement.
  • Develops, coordinates, and enforces systems, policies and procedures.
  • Provides technical assistance to management, and the general public by providing tax information that pertains to the regulations and procedures of the Oklahoma Tax Commission Motor Vehicle Division
  • Maintains quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards by analyzing and resolving customer service problems through system enhancement recommendations.
  • Analyzes processes and workflows for inefficiencies and makes recommendations for enhancement.
  • Provides assistance to taxpayers and tag agents with issues that may arise regarding any motor vehicle transaction.
  • Preforms monthly inventory on multiple inventory locations.
  • Develops the strategic goals for their assigned section(s) while considering potential impact to other departments and divisions.
  • Gathers and categorizes statistical data as required for process analysis and improvements.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
  • Knowledge of business math and accounting terminology and procedures, including maintenance of records; MV OneLink system; training principles and techniques; Supervisory principles and practices
  • Exceptional attention to detail; interpersonal skills; written & verbal communication; training & leadership skills.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and provide prompt service; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and with difficult or irate customers; establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; prioritize tasks to meet deadlines; organize and motivate staff; create and meet simultaneous timelines for multiple projects; detail-oriented with research and investigative experience; Interpersonal communication skills to effectively solicit ideas and recommendations from employees to increase workflow and improve work productivity
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
The preferred minimum qualifications for this position are:
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or public administration; or related field; PLUS four (4) years of professional experience in auditing, accounting, or similar field
  • OR eight (8) years of experience in auditing, accounting, or similar field
  • OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
  • The schedule for this position may vary and require flexibility, including some early or late shifts, weekends, and occasional overtime, based on the needs of the agency.
  • This position may require occasional travel. The employee must be willing and able to perform all job-related travel. State vehicles may be available, but reliable transportation may be required for local travel.
  • This position works in a comfortable office setting with a computer for a large percentage of the workday.
  • This position requires employees to be able to stand up to eight hours a day and lift 10-50 pounds on a regular basis, with assistance as needed.
