The State University of New York (SUNY) is seeking an experienced and organized Executive Briefing Specialist in the Chancellor's Office (Operations). The Executive Briefing Specialist reports to the Director of Chancellor's Office Operations to help coordinate and facilitate the accomplishment of mission-driven goals, objectives, and strategic and tactical initiatives as part of a team that delivers high output and high impact work in a fast-paced environment. They will work strategically and cooperatively in a team environment; managing complex situations and multiple responsibilities simultaneously, mixing long-term projects with urgent or immediate demands; managing confidential and sensitive information with integrity and caution; and developing and sustaining strong working relationships with senior staff members.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Work in conjunction with Director of Chancellor's Office Operations to oversee preparation, consistency, and quality of briefing and related items for the Chancellor, including background materials for specific meetings, conferences, or other events/opportunities.
Manage online tracking databases and documents.
Conduct research on a variety of subject matters including, but not limited to, SUNY's four pillars. Draft briefing documents for events using information from planning meetings, independent research, outreach to colleagues including event and policy staff, and engagement with external event organizers.
Build and maintain successful working relationships and coordination with a wide range of offices, staff, and stakeholders, both internal and external to the system.
Be assigned special projects for the Chancellor, Board of Trustees, Chief of Staff, and Deputy Chief of Staff.
Occasional travel to campus and press events
And other duties as necessary
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree.
Minimum of three years experience, including direct experience preparing briefing materials for a public official or individual in an analogous leadership role.
Meticulous attention to detail.
Exceptional communications skills and the ability to take direction.
Strong writing skills required.
Ability to work successfully with a high degree of independence.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with higher education policy issues.
Additional Information:
Salary is dependent on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education, training, and certifications. The range for this position is $70,000-$83,000 annually.
Travel as needed throughout NYS in support of the Chancellor
