Job Description :
The State University of New York (SUNY) seeks a full-time Digital Content Creator to support the Office of Press and Communications at SUNY System Administration with engaging, on-brand content that advances the mission of SUNY and the priorities of the Office of the Chancellor.
We are seeking a candidate who is passionate about social media and savvy in leveraging trends and emerging platforms to reach our audiences. This position will report to the Social Media Manager and work closely with colleagues across Press and Communications, as well as other departments, to write, edit, and produce multimedia content for SUNY's official social media accounts, marketing campaigns, website, and other digital properties.
This position is based in Albany and requires frequent travel across New York State, with occasional overnight and extended trips.
Duties And Responsibilities :
- Write and edit engaging, on-brand social media copy for SUNY's official social media channels, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, and emerging platforms.
- Produce multimedia content, particularly short-form video, for SUNY's official social media channels and marketing campaigns in collaboration with colleagues in the Office of Press and Communications.
- Produce high-quality content on deadline, sometimes with quick turnarounds in a fast-paced environment.
- Assist with content curation and coordination with departments across SUNY System Administration as well as campuses.
- Travel to campuses and other sites throughout New York State with the Chancellor and SUNY leadership to provide social media and multimedia support.
- Support the Social Media Manager with social media posting and scheduling.
- Assist with the development of social media analytics and reports.
- Conduct research to inform social media content and campaigns.
- Research emerging social media trends to recommend new approaches.
- Contribute proactively to creative brainstorming sessions and discussions.
- Assist with social media responses.
