SUNY System Administration is seeking an experienced leader with strong project management skills to support the Office of Enrollment Management in the development, oversight, and implementation of college advising initiatives and of FAFSA completion initiatives with our public high school partners. This dynamic position will be responsible for developing strategy, carrying out System initiatives on college advising and FAFSA completion, and tracking and reporting on data focused on identifying, recruiting, and enrollment of students via college advising partnerships with public school partners and on FAFSA completion for both incoming and continuing students across SUNY's 64 campuses.
Reporting to the Senior Director for the SUNY Welcome Center and Engagement Programming and based in New York City, the successful candidate will be responsible for planning and developing strategy, carrying out System initiatives, and tracking and reporting on data focused on designated college advising and FAFSA completion strategies. The Senior Director will also contribute to the comprehensive System recruitment efforts and support engagement programming, including System support of our public high school partners in meeting the new Universal FAFSA requirement for graduating New York State high school students, effective this academic year. The selected candidate will coordinate with other areas of Enrollment Management as part of comprehensive SUNY-wide enrollment strategies and will collaborate extensively with the New York City Public Schools (NYCPS).

Responsibilities
- Oversee the implementation of the college advising partnership between SUNY and the NYCPS, including supervision of on-site college advising personnel at the partner high schools
- Lead the implementation of Universal FAFSA completion supports by SUNY, in partnership with public high schools
- Serve as Co-principal investigator for the FAFSA Completion Corps, overseeing 70 AmeriCorps members conducting FAFSA outreach
- Lead the partnership with NYCPS FAFSA outreach by overseeing 5 embedded financial aid and college counselors within NYCPS high schools
- Supervise the Assistant Director of Financial Aid
- Lead efforts for FAFSA outreach ensuring timely and consistent updates to all System offices and areas, including Student Success areas (Enrollment Management and Student Financial Aid Service, Student Life & Opportunity Programs, Student Success & Transformational Initiatives), Academic Affairs, and others for dissemination to campus stakeholders
- Assist the Enrollment Management leadership in policy development, data analysis, briefing materials and written work products;
- Develop/Manage relationships with external partners (advocates, industry, other academic, workforce partnerships);
- Other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in related field
- At least 5 years of progressive experience leading college advising initiatives and strong knowledge of public higher education
- Excellent project management skills with a proven ability to meet tight deadlines, as well as having multiple interested stakeholders;
- Strong content knowledge in financial aid, especially with FAFSA (Better FAFSA preferred)
- Proven ability to lead a team to meet goals
- Excellent data analysis skills, including deep knowledge of excel, large data-sets, and descriptive statistics
- Strong time management skills and attention to detail;
- Comfortable with grant reporting requirements and ability to keep required documentation
- Salary is dependent on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education, training, and certifications. The range for this position is $82,000 - $100,000.
- State Title: Senior Staff Associate (SL-5)
