Professional Tutor - Accounting (PT)

The Professional Tutor in Accounting is responsible for one-on-one and small group support for student learning. Tutors exhibit patience and a positive attitude in establishing an encouraging learning environment.

This is an hourly, part-time position.

Qualifications

• Educational Background: Associate degree required, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred
• Experience: Working knowledge of Accounting through the Associates degree required; Experience in teaching/tutoring at high school or college level strongly preferred.
  
  

Essential Functions

• Demonstrate knowledge and competence in subject matter of specialty area.
• Provide direct assistance to students individually or in small groups.
• Support students to develop and meet their academic goals.
• Tutor according to the techniques presented in student classes.
• Work comfortably with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Collaborate with immediate supervisor regarding best practices in tutoring.
• Participate in tutor training and development sessions as required.
• Maintain and record student and usage records as needed.
• Update tutoring materials including workshop development as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Pay Scale By Degree Attainment

• Associates Degree: $21.00/hour
• Bachelors Degree: $23.00/hour
• Masters or Ph.D: $25.00/hour
