Role Summary
The Quality Inspector ensures compliance with quality standards through inspection, testing, and oversight of production processes, with a specific focus on control valve inspections and Quality Management System (QMS) support. This role involves identifying non-conformances, implementing corrective actions, and maintaining calibration systems while supporting supplier quality management and customer inspection activities. The role requires a strong attention to detail, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a high sense of responsibility to ensure customer satisfaction.

Duties And Responsibilities
Quality Assurance and Control:
- Plan, execute, and oversee inspection and testing of products to confirm quality and conformance to specifications and deliverables.
- Conduct control valve inspections, including arrival condition, in-process, and final product inspections.
- Characteristic inspections
- Primary responsibility for performing assembly inspections
- Documenting Non-conformances/errors and driving to owner to correct
- Reporting statistics on throughput, time, errors
- Incoming Quality Non-Conforming Products (NCP) reviews
- Leading team with actions related to identified incoming quality issues
- Oversight on completion of related returns, corrective actions, and NCR Resolution
- Support incoming inspection processes and paperwork
- Coordinate with Engineering to develop inspection requirements where needed
- Implement and train receiving on inspections
- Learns and uses specific technical knowledge related to part accuracy.
- Learns and use of drawings and measurement tools.
- Conduct dimensional, attribute, and visual inspections using calibrated tools and measurement equipment.
- Identify and address problems with a focus on root cause analysis and implement effective resolutions to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Document and track non-conformances, errors, and corrective actions, ensuring timely resolution.
- Understanding and ability to perform simple tasks in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel.
- Communicate the results of inspections and put forward corrective suggestions.
- Draft reports to document deficiencies and errors of products.
- Support the operation of the QMS within the organization.
- Calibration Equipment Coordinator: Ensure all inspection, measuring, and test equipment is calibrated and maintained per QMS requirements.
- Corrective Action Process Leader: Lead root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for identified non-conformances.
- Non-Conforming Product Process Leader: Oversee the non-conforming product process, maintain categorized metrics, and provide reports to leadership.
- QMS Internal Auditor: Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and company standards.
- Supplier Management: Develop and maintain supplier quality scorecards, perform evaluations, and manage supplier corrective actions.
- Management Review: Attend and present quality performance results at management review meetings.
- Host and manage customer visits for product inspections, including virtual/remote inspections.
- Identify and prepare necessary equipment and products for customer inspection activities.
- Conduct supplier evaluations, conduct supplier quality reviews, and follow up on supplier corrective actions.
- Generate and maintain supplier quality scorecards and ensure timely communication with external providers.
- Respond to customer feedback with actionable solutions and report outcomes.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in quality inspection is preferred.
- At least 3 years of related experience in quality inspection or manufacturing.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical schematics.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and address potential problems without overlooking issues.
- High sense of responsibility to resolve issues promptly and effectively to meet customer expectations.
- Knowledge of quality standards and inspection procedures, including familiarity with ISO 9001:2015.
- Competency in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and quality management software.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with adherence to deadlines.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing assignments and work schedules.
- Ability to perform general housekeeping tasks and adhere to workplace safety protocols.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- High drive for responsibility and accountability in ensuring quality and customer satisfaction.
- Experience with inspection tools and techniques, such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for reporting and collaboration.

- Knowledge of supplier management practices and quality scorecard development.
