Job Description
This Behavioral Health system is seeking a board certified / board eligible Psychiatrist to fill the following Correctional facility opportunity. The facility is located in Martinez, CA - 45 minutes from San Francisco and 15 Minutes from Walnut Creek. The staff position base salary is $330,000 per year with an $8,000 annual bonus. Sign On, Relocation Stipend, CME. The patients have not been incarcerated for federal crimes. They are in a county jail not a state prison. Inmates are typically there for theft, trespassing, and lighter crimes that are tied to a persistent mental illness. Not hardened criminals. Recently remodeled psychiatric unit with appropriate security. The psychiatrist does not need forensic expertise. There is one physician who is full time, and does 9-16 hour shifts per month. He does not live in the area, and they pay for his travel expenses. They are looking for full time employees however, not locums staffing. They are also looking for a medical director for this unit. Staff Psychiatrist - Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES) : $330K per year with increase for overnights. Sign On, Relocation Stipend, CME. Patients held for 72-hour observation with a 43 adult inpatient upstairs in the hospital. Spend more time with patient triage & treatment. A lot of armchair patient consulting. 3 physicians on call. 1 Physician covers overnight and inpatient unit for emergency call. Shift differential income available. Team environment with a social worker and medical backup always available. Adolescent to adult patient population.
