What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deposit Operations Specialist position at The Stephenson National Bank & Trust?
1. Overdraft Handling – Responsible for daily processing of all components and reports regarding the Overdraft Program in a timely, compliant, and accurate manner. Reviews and confirms daily balancing of returned items data, reports, and related general ledger accounts. Ensures the closure of accounts occurs automatically by file maintaining the account fields as required. Gathers data and creates accurate reports for daily, monthly, and quarterly report requests. Under the direction of the Deposit Operations Supervisor, follows, updates and maintains compliant Overdraft handling procedures for all component processing tasks. Monitors for system updates and makes change recommendations that support efficient operational processes. Stays alert to changes in regulations and recommends applicable updates to Risk Assessments, disclosures, to ensure continued compliance.
2. Debit Card Processing – Responsible for the daily processing, error resolution, and reporting of the bank’s debit card program in a timely, compliant, and accurate manner. Reviews and confirms daily balancing, reports, and related general ledger accounts. Responds timely to alert notifications, including daily Case Tracker and compromised cards lists. Works with the Deposit Operations Supervisor in conjunction with bank’s debit card Risk Analyst to ensure rules set are functioning properly within the card program. Performs proactive outreach upon discovery of potential fraud. Collaborates to provide and promote educational tools and resources related to Fraud Management. Responsible for timely and compliant SNBT ITM debit card error resolution. Under the direction of the Deposit Operations Supervisor, consistently reviews, updates and maintains compliant debit card procedures for all related debit card processing tasks. Monitors for system updates and makes change recommendations that support efficient operational processes. Stays alert to changes in regulations and recommends applicable updates to Risk Assessments, disclosures, to ensure continued compliance.
3. Operations - Under direction of the Deposit Operations Supervisor, and the VP Deposit Operations Manager, updates and maintains compliant procedures. Ensures bank policies and procedures are followed. Provides back-up support to other deposit operations functions and cross-trains as assigned.Assists in providing data for Audit-Exam request timely and works with management to resolve findings.
4. Customer Service - In a highly confidential and accurate manner, provides timely, professional responses upon every interaction to inquiries from internal/external customers via ITM, phone, virtual, email, chat, and all other applicable methods. Identifies and acts upon opportunities to enhance relationships by offering products/services that meet customer financial needs creating leads and referrals as necessary. Exercises independent judgment in effectively resolving issues for internal and external customers. Works to successfully meet established goals and expectations.
5. Performs other duties as assigned.
