Job Overview:
Grossmont Unified School District is hiring a Special Education Paraprofessional to provide direct support to students with special needs. This role involves assisting students from Kindergarten to 12th grade with their academic and behavioral development in a classroom setting.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one or group support to students in special education programs.
- Assist with classroom management and help implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Support students with varying behavioral needs, including personal care tasks such as toileting and diapering when necessary.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to maintain a positive learning environment.
- Encourage student participation and engagement in classroom activities.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; 60 college credits preferred.
- Prior classroom experience is a plus.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and LiveScan.
- Negative TB test required.
- 6 Months ABA
Training Provided:
- Autism-specific training.
- Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) basics (4-hour online course).
