What are the responsibilities and job description for the College Access Fellow position at The Steppingstone Foundation?
The Steppingstone Foundation is committed to providing exceptional educational experiences for students from underserved communities. As a College Access Fellow, you will play a critical role in helping us achieve this goal.
During this internship, you will work closely with experienced teachers and staff members to develop and implement engaging lesson plans, support students' academic and social-emotional growth, and build relationships with Scholars. You will also participate in weekly seminars and workshops, where you will engage with guest speakers and develop your knowledge of best practices in education.
The internship includes a range of responsibilities, including:
- Co-teaching core subject classes and social-emotional skills classes with a mentor
- Planning and leading whole-class lessons with support from a mentor
- Providing supervision and academic/social-emotional support during study hall and other times
- Serving as a bus monitor to ensure Scholars' safety during transportation
In addition to these responsibilities, you will have opportunities to reflect on your experience through writing and conversations with the Internship Coordinator and other interns.
