The Steppingstone Foundation is seeking a talented and dedicated individual to join our team as an Educational Support Professional. This summer internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in education, working closely with 5th-7th graders in a rigorous academic environment.
As an Educational Support Professional, you will work under the guidance of experienced teachers and staff members, developing your skills in lesson planning, classroom management, and student support. You will be paired with a lead teacher or mentor, who will provide regular feedback and guidance throughout the program.
The internship includes a range of responsibilities, including:
- Co-teaching core subject classes and social-emotional skills classes with a mentor
- Planning and leading whole-class lessons with support from a mentor
- Providing supervision and academic/social-emotional support during study hall and other times
- Serving as a bus monitor to ensure Scholars' safety during transportation
In addition to these responsibilities, you will participate in weekly seminars and workshops, where you will engage with guest speakers and develop your knowledge of best practices in education. You will also have opportunities to reflect on your experience through writing and conversations with the Internship Coordinator and other interns.
