What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supply Chain Lead position at The Sterling Choice?
Supply Chain Lead
Food Manufacturing
Landover, MD | Hybrid (2 – 3 days on-site)
$100k - $115k 12% bonus
How do you take a forecast, a factory, and a few data tools - and turn them into something that actually works?
That’s the puzzle at the heart of this role.
You’ll sit right where it all connects: taking the commercial forecast and translating it into a master production schedule that guides the plant, keeps raw material planners on point, supports logistics, and helps the whole network stay balanced on inventory. Not too much, not too little - just right.
This isn’t a back-office planning role. It’s high-visibility. You’ll be the go-to person for questions like:
“Do we have enough stock to cover this promo?”
“Can the plant actually produce what sales is forecasting?”
“Where are we overstocked and where are we exposed?”
Your toolkit includes SAP S/4HANA, Excel, and GIB (training provided), but just as important is how you work with people—especially the demand planner, logistics, and supply planning teams. Experience in CPG or FMCG is key. PowerBI is a plus. And if you’ve ever wrangled product lifecycle data or worked on supply chain digital transformation projects, you’ll feel right at home here.
You'll need around 8–10 years in supply chain, including deep production planning and ERP experience. This isn’t just about execution - it’s about spotting trends, solving problems, and continuously making the system smarter.
