POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a part time Payroll Assistant. In this role, you will work closely with both the Payroll Manager and the Director of HR to provide essential payroll and administrative support. This position is crucial in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll, along with supporting other HR-related tasks. The ideal candidate will possess payroll experience, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the accurate and timely processing of payroll, ensuring all employee records are updated, secure, and processed in accordance with school policies.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues, ensuring prompt and accurate resolutions while maintaining confidentiality.
- Assist in preparing and submitting payroll reports, tax filings, and other payroll related documentation as needed.
- Maintain accurate records for new hires, terminations, and other payroll related employee data.
- Address employee inquiries and ensure clear communication regarding any payroll changes, including deductions, benefits, and pay rates.
- Provide general administrative support to the Director of HR as needed, including maintaining employee records, mandated training, and assisting with events.
- Ensure compliance with payroll-related labor laws, tax regulations, and school policies.
- Handle sensitive payroll data with the utmost confidentiality and professionalism.
- Support HR-related tasks including background checks, maintaining records for campus access, insurance documentation, and other responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
- Associate/bachelor's degree in human resources, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HR software; experience with Paylocity is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Familiarity with labor laws, payroll regulations, and general HR best practices is preferred.
Salary Range: $18 - $22 per hour; commensurate with experience.
