 THE STRAND HOUSE IS LOOKING FOR OUTGOING AND EXPERIENCED HOST TO JOIN OUR TEAM! THIS IS AN HOURLY POSITION THAT INCLUDES THE OPPORTUNITY TO EARN TIPS!

COMPENSATION: Hourly rate of $17/hour DOE ($20-30/hour with tips included) | Sick pay (after 90 days) | $200 per month towards medical and dental insurance (full-time only after 90 days )| Positive and fun culture with lots of hospitality training | Room for advancement for highly motivated employees | 50% off meals at home restaurant | 25% off meals and hotel room discounts at other Zislis Group serviced properties

The Strand House is currently seeking a superstar host/hostess with prior hosting experience in a high volume and/or fine dining restaurant. As the first person that our guests meet, we are looking for someone with enthusiasm, and high energy who can make a great first and lasting impression to ensure that their dining experience is a positive one!

WHAT YOU WILL DO...

• Be the warm and welcoming face of the restaurant!
• Practice genuine hospitality with each and every guest
• Monitor the floor and be aware of what tables are available
• Estimate wait times for guests and ensure that their needs are met while they wait
• Answer the telephone, book reservations, and arrange tables to accommodate large parties
• Use OpenTable software for reservations
• Contribute to team effort. Being a team player above all is mandatory!

THIS JOB IS FOR YOU IF...

• Minimum of 1 year of hosting experience in a high volume or fine dining restaurant required, 2 years preferred
• Minimum of 1 year using with OpenTable
• Positive attitude and excellent communication and people skills
• Professional demeanor and a warm inviting personality (both necessary)
• Ability to anticipate guests needs and handling different expectations
• Demonstrative ability to address and resolve challenging guests needs and request with professionalism
• Ability to collaborate with multiple different team members
• Excellent phone etiquette (a must) and prior multi-line phone experience is a plus
• Ability to shift gears quickly and multitask at the highest level
• Walk up and down the stairs at our multiple level restaurant
