Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and creative Social Media Contractor to support the digital communication strategy for The STRIVE Initiative. The ideal candidate is passionate about youth-led movements, digital storytelling, and equity in education. This contractor will develop and manage content that reflects the energy and mission of STRIVE across multiple platforms, helping us build community and drive engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, schedule, and publish original, compelling content across platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube
- Write engaging captions, curate impactful visuals, and maintain a consistent brand voice
- Collaborate with program and media teams to promote events, student work, and impact stories
- Monitor platform analytics and engagement metrics to recommend improvements
- Coordinate digital campaigns that align with STRIVE’s mission and calendar (e.g., Giving Tuesday, student showcases, workshop launches)
- Engage with STRIVE’s online audience by responding to comments, resharing partner content, and fostering positive dialogue
- Help maintain a monthly content calendar and ensure timely and strategic delivery of posts
- Design branded graphics, short clips, or carousels using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite tools
- Stay updated on best practices and emerging trends in nonprofit and youth-centered social media
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience managing social media for a brand, organization, or campaign (nonprofit or youth-based content a plus)
- Strong writing and editing skills with an eye for tone, inclusion, and impact
- Proficiency with tools like Canva, Later, Meta Business Suite, Buffer, or similar
- Basic graphic design and video editing capabilities for mobile-friendly storytelling
- Knowledge of youth culture, social justice, or educational spaces is preferred
- Highly organized, deadline-driven, and responsive to team collaboration
- Portfolio or samples of social media content you’ve created or managed is required
Compensation & Contract Details
- This is a part-time contract role, with an estimated commitment of 10–15 hours per week
- Pay Range: $30 – $50 per hour, based on experience
- Contract term: 3–6 months, with potential to extend based on performance and organizational needs
- Flexible hours; must be available for weekly check-ins and aligned with STRIVE’s content calendar
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
