Title: Material Handler
Location: Schenectady, NY
Duration: 6 Months Contract
Shift: 7am to 3pm
Job Description:
- Must have a minimum of HS Diploma or GED.
- Must be clean-shaven for respirator use.
- Prior work experience of 3 to 6 months in the hazardous waste or chemical industry in a related position with proficiency in handling forklifts and a variety of tools
- Ability to communicate through reading and writing
- Trained in the use of material handling equipment
Performance Objectives / What you'll be doing:
- Performs various routine hazardous and non-hazardous waste tasks in the movement of solids and liquid, including decontamination operations, packing, re-packing, unloading, and loading containers
- Hazwopper training is required but will be provided.
- Responsible for performing a variety of routine hazardous and non-hazardous waste tasks in the movement of solids and liquids under direct supervision.
- Load and unload various size containers (totes, drums, tankers, trailers. etc.)
- Construct boxes and/or fiber containers and stacks, labels, and load containers.
- Use a variety of tools such as impact wrenches, shovels, jackhammers, etc.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
